Sunday 13th November saw our cadets partaking in the annual remembrance parade in the town.
All of our newly joined cadets formed the marching body in the parade, whilst many of our more experienced cadets formed our band that took their usual position, leading the parade through the town.
For one of our cadets, it will be her last outing on a major parade as a cadet as she will age out early next year. Cadet Sgt Blackwell took this opportunity to place our air cadet wreath on the memorial, watched over by the entire congregation for the service on the town square, as well as performing with our squadron band.
Cadet Cpl Singer and Adult Sgt Evans paraded our squadron standard and Royal Air Force Association standard with pride, along with the standards of the towns many youth and ex-forces groups.
This was the first parade of the day, as they had been requested to lead the remembrance parade in Oakham later that afternoon.
Ably directed by our temporary Drum Major and Commanding Officer (Fg Off Greaves) our band gave up their afternoon and headed up the Oakham parade, leading groups of regular and reserve forces, and many youth groups of Oakham through the towns streets from the castle to the church.
